About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiographer to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography studies, TEES, and Stress ECHOs, and interpreting and analyzing hemodynamic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department
  • Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
  • Prioritize workflow based on patient condition and ensure timely arrival and departure
  • Provide a supportive atmosphere to gain patient cooperation and confidence
  • Utilize patient satisfaction and practice performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in planning and improvement processes
Requirements
  • 2-year/Associate's Degree preferred, with a graduate degree from an accredited Echocardiography school or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of Echocardiography experience preferred, with a focus on cardiovascular imaging and diagnostic sonography
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonograph (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification required
Working Conditions

This role requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping, with frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs occasionally, with the use of Safe Handling Equipment as needed.
