Key Responsibilities

  • Process deposits for checking and savings accounts: validate cash and endorsements, collect appropriate identification for cash withdrawals, and provide deposit receipts.
  • Cash checks: confirm endorsements, collect proper identification, and ensure checks are valid.
  • Handle loan payments: verify payment amounts and issue receipts accordingly.
  • Conduct daily drawer balancing, including periodic batching of cashed checks; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Issue personal money orders and cashier's checks as needed.
  • Review deposited checks and determine funds availability in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring compliance with teller cash limits.
  • Responsible for checking night depository bags and documenting relevant information on the institution's forms.
  • Ensure compliance with federal banking regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all banking products and services.
  • Maintain adequate supplies at the teller station.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Demonstrate individual motivation and teamwork to achieve branch objectives.
  • Effectively communicate with customers during challenging situations.
  • Adhere to all banking policies and procedures.
  • Welcome and assist customers upon arrival.
  • Consistently balance the teller drawer.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Preferred experience in cash handling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules.
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills.
  • Effective organizational abilities.
