Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Medical Lab Technician to join our team at St. Josephs Hospital - Baycare Health System. This role requires a professional with a solid background in histotechnology and a commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Histo Tech Duties: Proficient in handling formalin and frozen section tissues, including grossing and fixation.
  • Microtomy Skills: Experience with automated and manual microtomes, as well as cutting tissue sections using microtome and cryostat.
  • Staining Expertise: Knowledge in various staining techniques, including Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E), Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS), and IHC Staining.
  • Lab Environment: Experience in both outpatient and inpatient laboratory settings is essential.
  • Equipment Familiarity: Experience with Roche Ventana Ultra and Benchmark Special Stainer equipment is preferred.
  • EMR Systems: Familiarity with Cerner EMR is advantageous.
Work Schedule
  • Shift: 5x8s, 22:30-07:00
  • Weekend Requirements: To be discussed during the interview.
  • On-call Duties: Not required.
  • Floating to Other Facilities: Not applicable.
  • Block Schedule: Open to discussion during the interview.
  • Local Candidates: Welcomed.
