Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Versiti Transportation Supervisor, this role involves executing established processes and policies for courier services, including the delivery and return of blood products to hospitals, pickups from donor centers and mobile blood units, supply deliveries, distribution site transfers, sample pickups for the Diagnostic Lab, pharmacy deliveries, and tube deliveries for the Donor Testing Lab, all conducted safely and punctually while meeting customer expectations and adhering to relevant regulatory standards.

Schedule:
Thursday-Saturday 10am-7pm

Compensation:
$17.29/hour

Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement Versiti policies and procedures for the delivery and return of blood products to hospitals, donor center pickups, equipment handling, interoffice mail, supply deliveries, distribution site transfers, Diagnostic Lab sample pickups, pharmacy deliveries, and tube deliveries for the Donor Testing Lab.

2. Ensure the safety, purity, potency, and efficacy of products by adhering to Versiti procedures in the handling of all blood and blood products.

3. Communicate any vehicle maintenance needs, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, refuel vehicles, and maintain general vehicle cleanliness.

4. Organize unscheduled urgent deliveries and special requests to optimize efficiency and fulfill customer requirements.

5. Employ defensive driving techniques and complete vehicle driving and safety training courses (online or in-person).

6. Execute Versiti customer service strategies aimed at meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

7. Complete all required training by Versiti in a timely manner.

8. Adhere to laboratory safety policies as outlined in the department manual and employee handbook.

9. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, ensuring no products, equipment, samples, or materials are left in the vehicle at the end of the shift.

10. Present a professional appearance and wear the required uniform.

11. Accurately complete all necessary paperwork.

12. Demonstrate courtesy towards other drivers and consider weather and road conditions.

13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

14. Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications:
Education

High School Diploma required.

Experience

4-6 years of experience as a route driver preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Ability to follow directions and read maps.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Willingness and motivation to cross-train in Hospital Services.
