Job Summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a skilled AOT Technician III to join our team in District 1. This role supports the technical and administrative work related to highway maintenance, repair, surveys, studies, testing, inspection, and safety for the agency of Transportation District Maintenance and Fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering support tasks involved in planning, surveying, design, inspection, construction, research and statistics, testing, investigation, maintenance or construction of various types of civil engineering projects.
  • Work in an office, laboratory, and field setting, requiring private means of transportation and exposure to hazardous materials, traffic hazards, and construction sites during all weather conditions.
  • Carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, traverse rough, wooded, and steep terrain, travel in boats or work on structures above ground level.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, environmental technology, surveying, construction technology, architecture, construction management, or related technical field AND one (1) year of experience performing engineering support tasks.
  • OR Associate degree in civil engineering, environmental technology, engineering technology, surveying, construction technology, architecture, or related field AND three (3) years of experience as described above.
  • OR High school graduation or equivalent AND five (5) years of experience as described above.
  • OR One (1) year as an AOT Technician II with the State of Vermont.
