About the Role
As a Broadband Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Climbing poles and ladders and operating bucket trucks to install coaxial and fiber optic communication lines with supervision
- Assisting in daily inspections of the line and/or bucket truck and equipment, as well as stocking necessary supplies
- Preparing equipment and executing pre-work trip inspections prior to mobilizing work on the job site
- Securing the work site and equipment at the end of each shift
- Preparing various documents, reports, and checklists related to work, equipment, and safety
- Maintaining awareness of pedestrian, co-worker, and vehicular traffic through the work area
- Ensuring safety signs and cones are set up safely to secure the job site
- Conducting JHA's and helping with pre- and post-job videos
- Safely and efficiently operating company vehicles as needed
- Assuming responsibility for tools and equipment personally used from the assigned truck and ensuring their return at the end of each shift
- Reporting lost or damaged equipment to immediate supervisors as soon as discovered
- Maintaining and using proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) issued in compliance with OSHA and company safety rules and regulations
- Performing routine maintenance checks on all machinery and reporting excessive wear or damage
- Complying with all company safety policies and procedures
- Identifying and correcting existing and potential safety violations
- Ensuring the security and cleanliness of trucks, tools, equipment, vehicles, storage, and work areas
- Staying up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding industry best practices and procedures to maximize job performance

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a Class D valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalency
- Have previous experience operating and working from bucket trucks
- Have a basic working knowledge of coaxial and fiber optic installation operations and overhead construction procedures, including attachment requirements as specified by N.E.S.C
- Be able to travel for work with overnight stays
- Exhibit a strong commitment to safety
- Be able to understand and carry out instructions given verbally, in writing, or diagrammatically
- Have the ability to learn and utilize basic knowledge and understanding of other utilities
- Interact effectively with customers and coworkers on a daily basis
- Able to interpret and correctly fill out various forms provided by the company and/or clients
- Demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, and truthfulness in all aspects of employment
- Possess good physical fitness and range of motion, including the ability to occasionally lift and carry loads up to 80 pounds
- Be proficient in climbing trees, towers, ladders, utility poles, and other structures while performing construction duties from heights
- Tolerate work in extreme outdoor weather conditions, including humidity, heat, and cold
Estimated Salary
$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
