- Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed records on student progress and IEPs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills, knowledge, and expertise in special education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with a valid Missouri teaching certificate in Special Education (K-12).
- Experience and Skills: Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience working with students with disabilities (preferred).
- Licensure and Certification: Missouri Initial Professional Certificate (IPC) or Continuous Professional Certificate (CPC) in Special Education, certification in Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical Disabilities (K-12) or Severe Developmental Disabilities (K-12), and any additional certifications as required by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment: Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support students with diverse needs.
- Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Positive Behavioral Supports: Familiarity with BIPs and positive behavioral supports to promote student well-being and academic success.
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Specialized Instructional Strategies: Training in ABA or specialized instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
