We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Home Care Assistant to join our team at FirstLight Home Care. As a Home Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients in the comfort of their own homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record patient condition, including physical and mental well-being, intake and output, and exercise.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services, as well as support with shopping for food and other household requirements.
- Assist patients with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Teach patients and their families how to use assistive devices, such as canes or walkers, and provide guidance on personal hygiene techniques.
- Advise on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping practices to promote a safe and healthy environment.
- Record patient information and notify nursing supervisors of any changes or unusual conditions.
- Maintain a safe and secure patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, turn, and re-position patients safely.
- Knowledge of asepsis standards and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
