Job SummaryTimken is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at our Iron Station, NC facility. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for making and/or repairing parts using machinery and hand tools, ensuring high-quality products are produced in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced in assigned production area.
- Follows the directions/instructions of the team leader and/or supervisor.
- Laying out work, setting up and operating machine tools, and performing any dismantling, fitting, or assembly work required for plant maintenance or construction.
- Interprets mechanical drawings, plans working procedure, performs layout work, and make sketches of parts as required.
- Monitors all assigned machines.
- Utilizes various measuring tools to ensure products are conformed to visual and dimensional specifications.
- Performs related assignments such as making minor pipefitting repairs, lubricating machines and equipment, filling out work tickets and maintenance reports.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S required.
- Advanced mathematical and mechanical skills.
- Experience with reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Experience with setting up and operating manual engine lathes and knee type mills.
- Experience with machining new parts based on interpretations of dimension taken from a worn part.
- Strong attention to detail along with ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift and/or carry 35 pounds or more.
- 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or related education preferred.
- Competitive Wages: excellent hourly wage plus shift differential for afternoon and night shifts.
- Shift Differential: $0.35 for working afternoon or night shift.

- $1000 sign on bonus after six months working.
- Starting pay range: $25.00/hr - $28.50/hr
- Top pay: $35.00/hr
- Available shift/schedule: 8 hours Mon-Fri
