Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Bureau Quality Assurance Manager, the Criminalist Supervisor performs the duties of Laboratory Quality Manager for the Bureau of Forensic Services Toxicology Laboratory in Sacramento, CA. The incumbent is responsible for the quality assurance program at a laboratory level and ensures maintenance of accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 ANAB AR 3125 standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance to the laboratory's management system and accreditation standards.
  • Conducts continuous audits of compliance and root cause analysis of potential nonconformities.
  • Manages measurement traceability, calibrations, and uncertainty.
  • Oversees the proficiency testing program and participates in internal audits.
  • Reviews cases and performs other complex quality assurance related duties.
Requirements
  • A fingerprint check will be required.
  • The position requires incumbents to pass a Background Investigation prior to being hired.
  • The position requires incumbents to pass a Drug Screening Test prior to being hired.
  • The position requires incumbents to pass a Medical Evaluation prior to being hired.
