Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our team at Cherokee Nation. As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in assigned areas.

Responsibilities:

* Perform necessary repairs or installations as per work orders
* Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
* Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
* Repair and maintain physical structures of the establishment, including carpentry
* Assist electrician and plumber with wiring and plumbing
* Perform custodial and janitorial services
* Perform ground maintenance

Health Services Employees only:

* Regular on-call duties and respond to weekend, vacation, and after-hours emergencies

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* An additional three (3) years of experience in maintenance is required
* Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
* The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Work Environment:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock

Physical Demands:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
* The employee frequently is required to talk or hear
* The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
* The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
