About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team. This is a remote position, but we prefer candidates to be based in San Francisco at least three days a week.

Candidate Requirements

  • 1-10 years of experience in software engineering and data platform architecture and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of current and future cloud offerings and risks related to security, privacy, data ingestion, processing, and storage.
  • Experience with Python beyond scripting, with a strong focus on backend development.
  • Previous experience at a top-tier tech company or startup.
  • CS degree from a top university.
  • Strong AWS development experience, including writing apps and services using the infrastructure.
  • Experience running production code in cloud environments and solving problems at scale.
  • Deep understanding of open-source libraries, frameworks, and systems, and experience deciding when to build from scratch versus using existing solutions.
  • Strong software engineering and data platform architecture and engineering skills, with experience building significant backend distributed systems.
  • Able to work in-office with the team in San Francisco at least three days a week.

What We Offer

Salary: $140,000 + equity
