Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Permit Specialist to join our team in Springville, UT. The successful candidate will assist the Engineering Department in preparing and submitting permit packages to municipalities, counties, and public works departments. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with engineers, construction teams, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate permit applications, fees, and signatures for submittal
  • Track and follow up on permit progress, ensuring timely completion
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to coordinate construction scope of work and permit requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to building permits
  • Maintain positive relationships with municipalities and customers
  • File and manage project documents, including blueprints, permits, and drawings
  • Communicate permit status updates to customers, engineers, and construction teams
  • Support general customer inquiries and provide information on permit requirements
  • Organize and maintain data, preparing reports as needed
Requirements
  • Ability to read maps and understand underground and aerial utility construction terminology
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Associates degree in a relevant field (preferred)
  • Prior construction experience (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and ability to learn other programs as needed
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position

This role operates in both office and field environments, with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards.
