Position Overview:

The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related environmental control systems. This role requires a solid understanding of refrigeration, heating, and pipefitting principles. Technicians will work with various systems, including advanced DX systems and large-scale chillers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and service HVAC equipment and controls with cooling capacities ranging from 1 to over 60 tons.
  • Perform compressor and condenser unit replacements or repairs.
  • Fabricate and install ductwork and components using metalworking tools.
  • Connect tubing or pipes to refrigerating units, ensuring proper soldering and circuit completion.
  • Repair or replace motors, compressors, and control systems, ensuring proper connections to power sources.
  • Conduct leak tests and add refrigerant to maintain optimal operating pressure.
  • Replace faulty electrical components, including breakers, thermostats, and wiring.
  • Service air-conditioning units of varying capacities as needed.
  • Maintain tools and company vehicles in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards to enhance workplace safety.
  • Exhibit strong attendance and productivity standards.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Foster a collaborative and adaptable work environment.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC services. EPA Universal certification is mandatory, and knowledge of pneumatic controls is advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork and customer relations. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid Driver's License and EPA Universal certification are required.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to navigate heights, lift heavy equipment, and work in varying temperatures. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory during all tasks.

Work Environment:

The work environment will involve exposure to various conditions typical of HVAC service roles. Adherence to safety standards and proper use of PPE is essential.
