Purpose and Summary

Responsible for executing routine sanitation tasks to ensure that County facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic state; typically during the second shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitizes restrooms and clinical spaces, ensuring the replenishment of essential supplies.
  • Operates necessary equipment for the upkeep of flooring and carpets.
  • Dusts and cleans various surfaces including furniture, shelves, and equipment as required.
  • Washes windows, woodwork, and mirrors to maintain clarity and cleanliness.
  • Collects and disposes of waste, while promoting recycling efforts.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Acceptable physical condition.
  • Preferred: One or more years of experience in cleaning services.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily indoors, with protection from outdoor weather, though often without climate control during evening hours.
  • Exposure to various odors, dust, and potential infectious materials.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment such as gloves is required.
  • Physical activities include standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs, and repetitive motions such as pushing and pulling cleaning equipment.
  • Effective communication regarding work progress and emergencies is essential.
  • Visual acuity is necessary to assess the quality and thoroughness of completed tasks.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens is considered low.
