Senior Specialist in Aircraft Interior Solutions at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Essential Skills:

***This role is focused on Service Center Interior.*** The candidate must have extensive expertise in Gulfstream aircraft interiors along with a comprehensive understanding of relevant Gulfstream methodologies and protocols. A minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft interior work is required. The individual should demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills across various departments to meet organizational goals while upholding safety and quality standards. Proven leadership capabilities are essential.

Educational and Professional Background RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED is mandatory. An FAA A&P license or the ability to secure a repairman certificate within 30 days of employment is necessary. A decade of significant experience in production, manufacturing, or service center operations is required. Position Objective: To serve as a technical authority on in-service aircraft and execute repairs on installations that demand a high level of precision and promptness. The candidate should be capable of working independently in a collaborative environment and assume a leadership role when necessary. Job ResponsibilitiesKey Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Execute technical tasks including proper methods for in-service installations, repairs/modifications, and refurbishments.
  2. Diagnose issues on in-service aircraft to identify root causes and implement preventative measures that enhance efficiency and product quality.
  3. Collaborate in problem-solving to refine planning methods for in-service aircraft refurbishments and installations by employing established techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  4. Engage with Engineering, Product Support Engineering, and Quality Control to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  5. Organize, develop (with support from the Training Department), and oversee the Employee Skills Development Program.
  6. Identify and establish training needs for tools, testing equipment, and other relevant areas.
  7. Plan, schedule, and complete tasks to align with service and delivery timelines.
  8. Support management in supervising and instructing technicians on appropriate procedures and techniques for troubleshooting airframe, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance. Assist in evaluating the performance of subordinates.
  9. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of team members, leveraging strengths for optimal job performance and providing guidance and growth opportunities to address developmental areas.
  10. Stay updated on industry standards, vendor information, and all procedures, publications, and general knowledge related to product support installations, repairs, and refurbishments.
  11. Aid in maintaining work schedules and updating CMP cards. Review work, including forms and records, to ensure adherence to Gulfstream Repair Station procedures and FAA Airworthiness Standards. Verify daily job charging for accuracy.
  12. Support Lean initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake tasks assigned to department technicians or leads during their absence, as needed.
  2. Adhere to standard operating procedures.
  3. Complete all necessary documentation, including CMP cards, Travelers, and R&I logs.
  4. Follow all safety, 6S, and housekeeping protocols, utilizing personal protective equipment. Ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP). Assist in the development and execution of related initiatives.
  5. Perform repairs on installations that require a high degree of accuracy and promptness.
  6. Assist in training team members on proper techniques, processes, and procedures.
Other Qualifications:
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and/or repair station protocols and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality standards.
  2. A proven track record in troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes.
  3. Proficient understanding of all necessary machinery and processes to perform the job. Basic computer skills are required.
  4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
