Staff Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our Maternity Unit team at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Direct the nursing care of obstetric patients and their newborns, ensuring seamless coordination with other healthcare disciplines.
Supervise licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and lead by example, fostering a positive and supportive team culture.
Promote harmonious relationships within the nursing unit and with other departments, demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Evaluate patients on admission, assessing their needs throughout their hospital stay and keeping care plans up-to-date.
Assist in educating patients about self-care and newborn care, providing empathetic support during this life-changing experience.
Maintain excellent relationships with physicians, staying informed about patient status and collaborating to ensure optimal outcomes.
Demonstrate knowledge of obstetrical patients' and newborns' unique needs, including fetal monitoring, signs of distress, and potential complications.
Keep the nurse manager or charge nurse informed of any nursing, patient, or staff concerns, promoting open communication and swift resolution.
Participate actively in committees or projects aimed at enhancing nursing care, contributing your expertise and ideas to drive continuous improvement.
Engage in educational programs for nursing service personnel, patients, and student nurses, sharing your knowledge and expertise to advance patient care.
Rounds with physicians, working collaboratively to address patient needs and ensure comprehensive care.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
Education:
An Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school is highly desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in nursing practice, preferably in an obstetrical setting.
Certifications and Licenses:
A valid RN license in the state of Arkansas, BLS certification, Neonatal resuscitation certification, ACLS certification with 8-hour OB modification, AWHONN fetal monitoring class completion within six months, and S.T.A.B.L.E. course completion within one year.
Skills and Abilities:
You must possess excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a genuine interest in obstetrical services.
