About the Role

We have an opportunity for a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Hematology/Oncology department at our Manhattan location. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and pertinent standards of care.
  2. Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols as applicable.
  3. Work collaboratively with nursing and other disciplines to develop and implement clinical studies within the area of expertise.
  4. Use evidence-based healthcare literature to advise and support appropriate practice changes within the designated service.
  5. Participate in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established practice protocols for purposes of quality and performance improvement.
  6. Serve as a clinical expert and resource for the education of peers and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Maintain current expertise in the area of practice.
  8. Promote own professional growth and development in clinical and managerial roles.
  9. Consider the needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in all patient care.
  10. Evaluate treatment and healthcare plans for effectiveness and modify per clinical standards and practice protocols.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification required as soon as feasible following graduation from NP graduate program by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
  • Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion, addressing patient/family safety and satisfaction.
  • Previous experience as a nurse practitioner is preferred.
