Job Title: Fluid Technician

As a key member of our team at LKQ, we are seeking a skilled Fluid Technician to join our crew. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently removing all fluids, lubricants, and components from vehicles as required. To excel in this position, you must be able to multitask, communicate effectively with colleagues, and be highly organized in your tasks. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented, willing to work at a fast pace, and maintain the quality and accuracy set forth in the job expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove all fluids, lubricants, and components as required in a safe and efficient manner, and prepare vehicles for storage on the yard.
  • Set out cars as assigned and record information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete necessary paperwork as required.
  • Work closely with the lift operator to maximize processing efficiency.
  • Store all containers of parts in a secure area each night.
  • Label and stretch wrap containers when full.
  • Ensure containers are securely stored at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent desired.
  • Prior knowledge of automobiles or mechanics preferred.
  • Willingness to be trained and learn the company's products and procedures.
  • Basic math and reading skills to perform job tasks and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must possess a safety-conscious mindset, as you will be working with various substances.

This position requires frequent bending, climbing, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, sitting for relatively long periods while driving, and occasional inclement driving conditions. The noise level in some work environments may be moderately loud.
