Job Overview

The Metal Fabrication Specialist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing sector, focusing on the setup and operation of advanced machinery designed to bend and shape metal sheets with precision. This position requires a keen eye for detail and adherence to technical specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:
    • Configure, fine-tune, and operate metal bending machines to accurately form and cut metal sheets as needed.
  • Blueprint Analysis:
    • Interpret technical drawings, work orders, and production timelines to ascertain required specifications and tolerances.
  • Tool Selection:
    • Identify and select the correct dies and tools for each bending operation, ensuring optimal alignment and performance.
  • Material Management:
    • Securely position and hold metal sheets on the bending machine in accordance with outlined specifications.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and tolerances, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform regular maintenance and servicing of the bending machinery to ensure efficient operation.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a tidy and organized workspace.

The role involves operating various machinery, including Amada press brakes and other fabrication equipment, while also providing support to fellow shop personnel with material handling and preparation tasks.
