Job Title: Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. As a key member of our outpatient pediatric psychiatry service, you will provide high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents with a broad spectrum of mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and education, to promote optimal mental health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Engage in educational and training activities with medical students, residents, and nurse practitioner students to promote interprofessional learning and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse-Psychiatric Mental Health in the State of Texas and in good standing.
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Eligibility for credentialing and privileging by the Seton Healthcare Family.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in a busy outpatient or inpatient clinical practice with minimal clinical guidance.
  • Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency using Cerner electronic medical records.
  • Experience tracking, measuring, and using patient-reported outcomes in developing treatment plans for patients.
