About the Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced systems engineer to lead our team in developing and applying new technologies that address the Government's most challenging systems engineering problems. As a Model Based Systems Engineer, Lead, you'll be responsible for modeling architectures of complex systems using standards-based languages, evaluating and comparing alternative architectures, and communicating cost-benefit analysis and ROI to sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead tasks and projects to accomplish project objectives and address sponsor problems.
  • Model architectures of complex systems using SysML and UML.
  • Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Communicate cost-benefit analysis and ROI to sponsors.
  • Articulate major uncertainties associated with systems architectures and define risks and opportunities.
  • Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes.
  • Translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for US Government agencies.
  • Develop prototypes using Java, Python, and related programming languages.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, with 8+ years of applicable systems engineering experience.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US clearance.
  • Hands-on proficiency with SysML, UML, and other modeling tools, as well as Java, Python, and related programming languages.
  • Documented success using Cameo/MagicDraw, Doors, and similar packages.
  • Solid knowledge of systems architecture and systems design and development.
  • Documented ingenuity for applying technical skills across multiple subject matter domains supporting Department of Defense customers.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation.
  • Project-based teamwork experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a technical field of study.
  • Current clearance.
  • Track record of leadership in SE innovation, research, and publishing.
  • Demonstrated technical management for SE projects that require cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Analysis of Alternatives, Verification and Validation, Design of Experiments, and data analytics.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in the context of engineering AI/ML systems and/or utilizing AI/ML to evolve the practice of Systems Engineering.
