Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our team at Robinson Engineering. As a Survey Crew Chief, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our surveying work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage survey crews to conduct boundary surveys, topographic boundary surveys, and construction staking
  • Read and interpret civil engineering plan sets, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, and topographic boundary surveys to apply information in real-time to projects
  • Operate and instruct the use of digital total stations, analog automatic levels, and GNSS receivers
  • Interact and communicate with staff members, public citizens, private clientele, and construction contractors to accomplish assigned tasks

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics, including geometry, trigonometry, interpolation, and extrapolation
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office and Trimble Access software
  • Experience with operating Trimble TSC7 Survey Controller, Trimble S6, or similar electronic fully robotic total stations, and Trimble R8 or R12i GNSS satellite receivers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
