Internal Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at a Critical Access Hospital in northern Maine. This is a unique opportunity to work in a rural setting, providing high-quality care to patients with a focus on geriatric medicine.

  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our clinic is attached to the hospital, providing easy access to labs, radiologic studies, EKG, and respiratory treatment.
  • Collaborative Team: Work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including a physician and three other PAs/NPs, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Autonomy and Support: Each provider has their own office, and our EMR system is Meditech Expanse, allowing for efficient and effective care.
  • Patient Panel: See 16 patients per day, with opportunities for bonuses for higher patient volumes.
  • Geriatric Focus: Provide care to patients with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorder, CHF, and COPD, with a focus on panel-style medicine and knowing your patients.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree completed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Certification: National certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Licensure: Maine State Medical License.
  • Experience: Proven interest and experience in internal medicine, including preceptorship, courses, electives, and work.
  • Skills: Comfort seeing patients with chronic illnesses and managing treatment plans, with an interest in rural medicine and living in northern Maine.

Perks

  • Competitive Salary: $120,000-$140,000 (negotiable for experience over 4 years).
  • Bonus Incentive Plan: Based on percentage of reimbursements.
  • Benefits: Health insurance, vision and dental insurance, one week of CME time per year, $2500 allowance, four weeks of PTO, retirement plan with 403B, license cost covered, $1500 for membership dues, and life insurance.
