The CT Technologist is a vital member of our radiology team at St. David's Medical Center, responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) exams in accordance with established standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Consistently produce diagnostic-quality scans for patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
- Operate CT scanners and related equipment efficiently and effectively, adhering to established scanning and viewing protocols.
- Complete quality scans in a timely manner, prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while maintaining optimal patient care standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute, and challenging patients, modifying positioning and scanning factors as needed.
- Produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy, demonstrating knowledge of disease processes.
- Complete required documentation on forms, logs, and electronic medical records.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, interacting with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and colleagues in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
- Graduate of an approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Completion of courses in computed tomography and cross-sectional anatomy.
- One year of experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting.
- Preferred: One year of experience performing CT procedures.
- Registered Radiology Technologist (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) required upon hire.
- Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
