Job Overview

Position: CNC Press Brake and Laser Cutting Technician


Summary: The CNC Press Brake and Laser Cutting Technician is responsible for the operation and upkeep of advanced press brake and laser cutting equipment, ensuring optimal production efficiency and superior quality results. This position requires effective troubleshooting of machinery, maintaining a tidy and secure work environment, and following all safety regulations. The technician will collaborate closely with the Sheet Metal Supervisor in a cooperative fabrication setting.


Primary Duties:

  • Operate CNC press brake and laser cutting machinery to form metal components.
  • Configure and modify machine settings according to material requirements.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery and resolve any operational issues.
  • Interpret and analyze technical schematics to guarantee accuracy in production.
  • Examine completed items to confirm they align with quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues and adhere to supervisor directives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (trade certification is advantageous).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in metal fabrication.
  • Skilled in operating CNC machinery and familiar with related software (e.g., Sigmanest, TruTops Boost).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs, remain standing for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Trumpf machinery is beneficial.
  • Understanding of bending tolerances and laser cutting methodologies.
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills.
