ENGIE North America is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our solar generation sites.
Key Responsibilities- Access tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or SAP software systems and perform repairs, troubleshooting, and technical repair work orders for solar panels.
- Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), including substation operations, equipment lockouts, and grounding.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings.
- Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with a focus on AC/DC electrical theory, reading blueprints, and schematics.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing, or mining operations, or controls and industrial maintenance.
- Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as a substation technician within 12 months of hire date.
- Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor.
- This is a field position requiring daily travel to client sites.
- Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record to drive company vehicles.
- Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy regarding COVID vaccination and testing.
