Diesel Technician - 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Cummins, specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in New Hudson, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.
  • This is a second shift role: 12pm-8pm.
  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Preferred Qualifications:

  • CDL preferred. Must be willing to occasionally work on the road if needed.
  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free of major violations.
  • This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.
