We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality, patient-centered care through inpatient and virtual consultations. Our focus is on non-urgent, primary care with a special emphasis on weight management, lifestyle health, and functional medicine.

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and provide follow-up care for test results.
  • Advise patients on prescriptions and treatment plans, and follow federal, state, and nursing guidelines.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, blood work, and scans, and refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Update patient charts and upload to Electronic Health Record (EHR) software, and work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses to provide quality patient care.
  • Examine patients, discuss medical history, symptoms, and perform physicals, and be familiar with medical database software, medical research software, and other relevant tools.

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prefer a local nurse practitioner in Traverse City, Michigan, but multi-state licensed providers are also considered.
  • Handle the physical demands of the job, including walking and standing for long periods, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Conduct Telemedicine consultations via video conferencing, telephonic, or asynchronous (texting), and communicate effectively with patients and medical professionals.
  • Problem-solve independently and as part of a team, and develop strong relationships with patients and their families.
  • Teamwork skills, empathy, and compassion are essential for this role.

Nurse Practitioner Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in Michigan, with multi-state licensure a plus.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred, and National board certification from an accredited agency is required.
  • Master's in Nursing is required, with a Doctorate of Nursing preferred.
  • Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner in a physician practice or hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.

The preferred hire would be a W2 employee with benefits, but we are also accepting applications from 1099 applicants.
