About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Sonography Extern to join our team at Bronson Healthcare. As a key member of our Cardiovascular Services department, you will work closely with our Registered Sonographers to conduct peripheral vascular and cardiac ultrasounds, producing high-quality two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a Registered Sonographer, you will conduct ultrasounds and gather data for measurement of blood flow velocities, vessel compressibility, and other relevant metrics.
  • You will communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team members, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
  • As a team player, you will participate in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and effective communication within a small work group.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, documenting exceptions to protocols, and ensuring compliance with established laboratory guidelines.
Requirements
  • You must be enrolled in and maintaining satisfactory progress in the final year of an accredited college program for Cardiac and/or Vascular sonography.
  • You will be required to complete Hospital, Core, and Department-specific orientation.
  • BLS certification is required upon hire or within 6 months.
  • You must possess basic PC skills to operate the database and office programs used in the department.
Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of mental and visual fatigue. You will be required to lift moderately heavy weights (up to 50 pounds) and assist with heavier tasks as needed.
