Clinical Nurse Ambulatory Specialist

Job Summary:This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may be required to float occasionally to other Children's Health locations, including Dallas, Plano, and THD Clinics.
Responsibilities:- Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care, utilizing clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines.
- Ensure patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
- Oversee care delivered by patient care teams, coordinate plans of care, and provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and patient care teams.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement an appropriate plan of care, promoting each person's contributions towards achieving the best patient outcomes.
- Advocate for patients, represent their concerns, and identify and assist in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters in EPIC.
- Ensure Patient Health Information (PHI) is protected and secured at all times.
- Adhere to all infection prevention initiatives, including hand hygiene, proper disposal of waste, etc.
- Deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs.
- Work collaboratively with a team-orientation, emphasizing good customer relations, sound clinical judgment, and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidence-based practice.
- Continuously inquire about the condition of patients through the ongoing process of questioning and evaluating the situation, and implement treatment changes, if necessary, through collaboration with the healthcare team, inclusive of the patient and family.
- Maintain a body of knowledge and tools that allow the nurse to manage whatever environmental and system resources exist for the patient/family, within or across healthcare and non-healthcare systems.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association.
- PALS/NRP/ACLS (Department-specific requirements).
- PACES certification within 6 months of hire.
- Initial Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PPMAB) training within 60 days of hire and renewed annually.
