We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Technician to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medical Management Corporation. As a Surgical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in the operating room, including scrubbing on operative procedures, obtaining and preparing instruments and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment.
- Perform patient care activities as defined in the skills competency model with compassion, dignity, and respect.
- Maintain aseptic technique 100% of the time and demonstrate proficiency in gowning and gloving.
- Prepare appropriate supplies and equipment based on procedural and/or surgeon preference lists.
- Check equipment and instrumentation for proper function prior to procedures.
- Perform as first scrub and prepare rooms for next patients.
- Prepare instruments for decontamination and maintain a safe and clean environment 100% of the time.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- BLS CPR certification required.
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program including clinical experience required.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Surgical Technician required.
- Certified by The Association of Surgical Technologists, The National Board of Surgical Technology, or The Surgical Assisting Liaison Council Certificate of Surgical Technology highly preferred.
