This role encompasses responsibility for financial management, human resources, and quality outcomes within the designated service area. The Manager prioritizes the needs of patients and stakeholders, demonstrating the competencies required to meet and surpass expectations. The Manager also inspires others with a clear, well-communicated vision and motivates teams to achieve shared goals. Furthermore, the Manager is dedicated to identifying and nurturing organizational talent while promoting continuous personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Collaborates with Human Resources and other leaders to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversees personnel and resources to guarantee safe and effective patient care operations.
  • Partners with the Chief Executive Officer to optimize staffing and scheduling practices.
  • Manages the disciplinary process when necessary.
  • Facilitates the annual performance evaluation process.
  • Utilizes staffing tools effectively.
  • Implements innovative strategies to foster a healthy work environment that promotes rest and minimizes employee fatigue.
  • Supports care coordination and addresses operational challenges.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and billing standards.
  • Conducts assessments to guide the implementation of new processes and protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe Environment of Care.
  • Identifies key processes and outcomes that are critical for customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Customer Engagement:

  • Clearly defines internal and external customers and their expectations.
  • Actively seeks feedback from customers and implements solutions based on their input.

Staff Development:

  • Provides timely feedback to enhance staff performance and morale.
  • Monitors coaching discussions and staff performance to ensure accountability.
  • Aligns staff talents and career aspirations with organizational opportunities.
  • Adheres to and supports the implementation of all organizational policies and ethical standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly evaluates ways to enhance business relationships with customers and community partners.
  • Encourages the sharing of knowledge and best practices among team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all staff receive appropriate supervision to maintain high-quality operations.
  • Fosters professional relationships with staff, physicians, and vendors, treating all individuals with respect.
  • Identifies cross-training opportunities to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Promotes effective project management and quality improvement methodologies to achieve project goals.
  • Establishes and monitors the unit's budget to meet financial targets.
  • Collaborates with leadership to drive improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred; clinical healthcare experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, with knowledge of healthcare trends.

Preferred:

  • Proven project management and analytical abilities.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a hospital management role.
  • Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
