Perioperative PACU/Endoscopy Nurse Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Bath Health and Wellness Center is seeking a skilled Perioperative PACU/Endoscopy Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide preoperative assessment and develop plans for patient/family educational needs
  • Assess, develop, and document plans for appropriate patient/family educational needs
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient/family education
  • Develop plans of care and set goals utilizing concepts of managed care as appropriate
  • Participate in direct delivery of patient care, maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for patients
  • Collaborate with other health care team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care
  • Assign/delegate appropriate patient care activities to other nursing staff based on patient needs and skill level/qualifications of staff members
  • Participate in unit and center performance improvement activities
  • Assist in orientation of registered nurses and other center personnel
  • Establish effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Currently licensed in the State of Ohio
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Two years prior nursing experience
  • Preferred qualifications: BSN, Perioperative PACU or Endoscopy nursing experience
Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
