Job Description

This is a critical role that requires a high level of attention to safety, customer service, and communication skills. As a School Bus Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students and other passengers. Your duties will include:

  • Operating school buses under various weather conditions
  • Loading and unloading students and other passengers safely
  • Inspecting vehicles for safety and cleanliness
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports

You will also serve as a representative of the Sherwood School District 88J and interact with parents, students, and staff members in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement
  • A clean driving record
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and move quickly in emergency situations
