RN - Perioperative Procedures Specialist

This role serves as a leader in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The successful candidate will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes. They will also demonstrate sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions and maintain involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and departmental strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively utilize the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
- Required: Registered nurse diploma, Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, Certification in clinical specialty area.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
