Job Summary:

Dodge City Community College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Success Center Coordinator/Advising Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students pursuing a career in Nursing and Allied Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Advising: Provide academic advising and counseling to students pursuing a degree in Nursing and Allied Health, including creating personalized student advising plans and monitoring student progress.
  • Program Support: Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement academic programs and services that support student success in Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff, providing clear and timely communication regarding student progress and program requirements.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in academic advising, student success, and Nursing and Allied Health education.
  • Supervision: Supervise student workers and advisors, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of students in the Nursing and Allied Health programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Currency in the field of alternative teaching/learning strategies and supporting technologies.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and effective student advising documentation as required by the U.S. Department of Education/Office of Postsecondary Education.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in teaching underrepresented, underprepared, and other at-risk students and in using supporting technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse populations, including traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Bilingual communication skills.
  • Teaching experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to communicate in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to access classroom, office, and other campus locations.
  • Ability to occasionally carry supplies weighing 20-30 pounds.
  • Ability to access off-campus performance sites.
