Job Summary

PennState Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals with various medical procedures and tasks, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Conduct routine lab studies and obtain specimens as needed.
  • Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments and phone messages.
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
