Job SummaryThe right person for this job will have strong administrative, accounting, and management skills with previous experience in the construction industry. This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller. The Financial Controller will be responsible for financial statements, financial reporting, financial analysis, and accounting activities. They will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth.
Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Monitor cash flow and handle monthly closing process, providing month-end financial statements.
- Financial Planning: Assist Executives in developing financial plans and strategies for the overall company, as well as for joint venture companies and investments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review all regulatory filings, including payroll taxes, sales tax, unemployment, workers compensation.
- External Coordination: Coordinate with outside CPAs for annual financial statement reviews, audits, and federal and state income tax returns.
- Relationship Management: Maintain good working relationships with our banker, bonding company, and insurance company.
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; previous experience will also be a consideration.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, proficiency in finance and accounting principles, experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
