Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanic to join our Grounds Department team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various pieces of equipment, including lawnmowers, to ensure the grounds are well-maintained and safe for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of equipment
  • Repair and change tires as needed
  • Maintain service records and perform preventive maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Maintain a professional appearance
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Drivers License (unrestricted) with good driving record
  • 2-5 years minimum experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, LP, and electric equipment
  • Working knowledge of the proper methods of servicing equipment and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession
  • Ability to repair custodial equipment
  • Basic knowledge of trailer wiring and braking systems
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
