Occupational Therapist Job Opportunity at Magnet Medical

Magnet Medical is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to fill a travel position in Raeford, North Carolina. This 13-week assignment offers the ideal opportunity for professionals looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' needs, strengths, and goals.
    • Evaluate physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities using standardized tests and observations.
    • Develop personalized evaluation reports outlining areas of improvement, potential goals, and required interventions.
  • Treatment Planning
    • Create tailored treatment plans addressing specific patient needs.
    • Set measurable goals for improvement in self-care, mobility, work performance, and cognitive skills.
    • Recommend therapeutic activities and exercises adapted to individual patient abilities and progress.
  • Therapeutic Interventions
    • Implement individualized therapy programs enhancing motor skills, cognitive function, sensory processing, and social interaction.
    • Use activities like exercises, games, fine motor tasks, and adaptive strategies to promote independence.
    • Work with patients on daily living skills such as dressing, bathing, cooking, and using assistive devices for mobility.
    • Teach patients new ways to complete tasks, including recommendations for ergonomic practices and assistive equipment.
  • Patient Education and Support
    • Educate patients and families about rehabilitation techniques and strategies for promoting functional independence.
    • Provide guidance on using adaptive equipment and tools.
    • Offer emotional support and encouragement throughout the recovery process.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
    • Participate in care planning meetings and share insights about patient progress and therapy requirements.
    • Regularly communicate with families and caregivers to update them on progress and offer guidance on supporting therapy goals at home.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of patient progress, therapy sessions, and treatment plan modifications.
    • Document and report patient progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
    • Complete necessary reports and update care teams on patient progress, challenges, and success.
