Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Duke Raleigh Hospital, A Campus of Duke University Hospital. This is a full-time opportunity for a New Grad or Experienced Registered Nurse to work on our Ortho/Neuro Spine and Neuro Stepdown Unit.

Unit Summary

Our Ortho/Neuro Spine and Neuro Stepdown Unit is a 32-bed unit located in the new South Pavilion, 3700. We specialize in caring for post-operative spine patients, as well as those diagnosed with stroke and/or neurology-related procedures. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and customer service, with a commitment to zero harm.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, provide, supervise, and document professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
  • Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
  • Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
