Job Summary

The City of Medford seeks a highly skilled Library Technology Specialist to maintain its public and staff computers, networks, and other technology. The successful candidate will provide technical support and training to both staff and patrons.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technology Support: Provide assistance with software and hardware issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop solutions.
  • Network Management: Manage the local area network, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as liaison to the IT support vendor and city tech support, communicating technical needs and resolving issues.
  • Reference Desk Work: Greet patrons, assist with reference and research inquiries, and provide guidance on equipment use.
Requirements
  • A Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited college or university.
  • A strong background in computers and technology.
  • Prior experience working in a library setting.
Working Conditions

The position requires work in a library environment, involving sitting at a desk or computer terminal, standing at a counter, moving materials, and physical exertion to move carts.

Compensation
