Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Research and Development team at Boon Edam USA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, drafting, and testing mechanical systems and components.

• Support the Research and Development team in projects from release through launch, providing engineering support in an organized and on-time fashion.
• Maintain detailed records of project work and assist the Principle Mechanical Engineer as needed.
• Act as a Point of Contact for R&D mechanical design support, layouts, assemblies, and other related tasks.
• Assist with testing activities, prototype builds, test setups, and teardowns.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and control of design releases within the engineering framework.
• Support cross-functional activities by ensuring drawing accuracy, helping train people, solving problems, and implementing improvements.
• Learn and apply safety compliance concepts when designing.
• Support sales and marketing activities by responding to customer requests, helping train people, and ensuring all technical information is accurate and up-to-date.

• Associate's degree/certificate in mechanical technology or related study.
• Autocad Inventor experience, with FEA understanding and experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering design and development discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to think in terms of 'systems' and work creatively to improve them.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and actively contribute to the success of the team.
• Good communication, organization, and project documentation skills.
