Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Route Driver to join our team at Darling Ingredients Inc. as a key member responsible for the efficient collection of animal fatalities, fat, and bone from customer sites using a semi-truck.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect raw materials at pick-up locations, ensuring no foreign or hazardous items are present, and maintain an Electronic DOT log.
  • Provide customers with pick-up receipts and obtain necessary management signatures.
  • Maintain and operate company vehicle in compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct safety checks, inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships by delivering professional service.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Follow assigned routes and attend safety meetings as necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tankers Endorsement preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of commercial vehicle operation experience in a delivery setting.
  • Prior route experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with truck hydraulics is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to remain composed and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Good driving record and the capacity to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical operations.
Working Environment

Expect to work in commercial vehicles, customer sites, and plant settings.
