About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team at Walgreens. As a key member of our retail pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Experience
    • Engage with patients to provide personalized care and support, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with colleagues to deliver a distinctive and joyful experience.
    • Anticipate patient needs and proactively offer services to enhance their overall experience.
    • Participate in community outreach activities to promote the pharmacy business and enhance growth opportunities.
  • Operations
    • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications, and refer to medical providers as needed.
    • Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
    • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
    • Assist the pharmacy manager with establishing procedures that promote the efficient workflow of the pharmacy.
  • People & Performance Management
    • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training, and reinforce the direction of Pharmacy Manager in staff performance.
    • Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitoring progress, and recognizing achievements.
  • Training & Personal Development
    • Maintain current knowledge and required licensing/credentialing/certification to provide clinical services.
    • Maintain awareness of developments in retail and management, and pursue best practices to enhance performance.
    • Seek professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting feedback, and leveraging pharmacy manager and store manager as mentor and coach.

Requirements
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
  • Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
  • Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
