Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at CEVA Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, trailers, and flatbeds within our dock and yard area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Loading and Unloading: Manage loading and unloading freight by hand or by using manual equipment such as hand trucks or pallet jacks or forklifts. Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to refuse or accept with notation.
  • Cargo Management: Sort cargo received by account or intended location and store in proper location. Accurately label freight to destination.
  • Yard Operations: Shuttle empty and full trailers within dock area and parking lots. Transport freight from storage dock area or trailers to designated area. Secure lifting attachments to freight to move to assigned location.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain clean work area. Clean out trailers if needed prior to moving them.
  • Inspections: May be required to perform post or pre-load inspections on trailers and document condition of equipment and trailers before re-use or reloading.
  • Damage Reporting: Verify and report damages as discovered. Perform daily yard check.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: High School Graduate or GED. Minimum 3 years industry driving experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months related experience.
  • Credentials: Valid state-issued Class C Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence. Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations, and Company policy. Forklift Driver Certification. DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification.
  • Skills: PC Literate. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to operate various yard equipment. Understanding of safety rules that apply to dock and warehouse operations.
  • Characteristics: Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms, or other related documents. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
