Personal Care Assistant

At Sabal Palms Health & Rehabilitation, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendant to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Personal Care Attendant will provide routine personal care to assigned residents in accordance with care standards and as directed by the Director of Nursing. This role requires a high level of responsiveness, delivered in a flawless, timely, and caring way.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional care to residents, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, toileting, and other resident needs.
- Ensure a high level of hygiene in resident rooms and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Carry out Health Center department duties on a regular basis, acting within the reasonable scope of practice for a Personal Care Attendant.
- Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Sabal Palms Health & Rehabilitation.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. You must also be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, personnel, and the general public.
Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility. Must be able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.
Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position. High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. Successful completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant course as required by state law. Current CPR certificate.
Working ConditionsThis position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of this position.
