Job DescriptionAs a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and service. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our pharmacy, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
- Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
- Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
- Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities.
- May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
