Medical Imaging Specialist for Cardiac and Vascular Care

We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at UCHealth. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cardiac and vascular conditions. As an Interventional Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients, assisting physicians, and ensuring imaging quality while adhering to radiation safety standards.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with a shift of days. The ideal candidate will have ARRT certification and relevant experience in health sciences. You will work closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care and support imaging procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping, and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites, and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and/or vascular interventional procedures and supports related imaging procedures. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
- Informs patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and seeks assistance related to patient condition changes in status.
- Prepares equipment and supplies, selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and applies radiation safety standards and reports equipment malfunctions.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision to take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED or graduate of a certificate, license, or degree-granting program, or post-secondary educational program in a health science or Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) program or Cardiac Technologist program.
- ARRT certification
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
